Palateable was started in 2019 with the vision of bringing families back together at the dinner table again with food that is healthy, fresh, convenient and actually tastes good. Like really good.
A NOTE FROM OUR CHEF
Growing up in Nicaragua, eating together was a huge part of our culture. Dinner was not a quick, whip-up-whatever-you-have-in-the-pantry kind of meal. It was always (and I mean, always) a massive, 7 course affair where everyone sat down, laughed, ate, and enjoyed time together as a family. And the food was always amazing. To this day, this is how I cook for my family and the entire dinner experience every night is my favorite part of the day. I realize not everyone can or wants to spend this kind of time in the kitchen but everyone deserves to have access to this kind of food and the ability to sit down and enjoy a meal together. Food is meant to be tasted and savored, not just eaten. And meals are meant to be taken together. And if my meals can bring you together as a family, well, then I've done my job!

Being married to a chef (I know, I won the jackpot!), our dinners have always been... don't hate me for saying this, but truly next level. After nearly every one of my friend's jaws dropped when I said my wife made ketchup from scratch, I realized my dinner situation was far from the norm. What I was gathering from my friends and collegues was that between work and kids, getting dinner on the table for their family was nearly impossible. Kids were eating one thing, parents were eating something entirely different after the kids went to bed. And sometimes it was literally just the scraps off their kids plates. Takeout was expensive and a hassle. And they loved the idea of a meal delivery service but not one of the programs they'd tried delivered food that actually tasted good, not to mention was kid friendly. So my wife (the chef that makes me ketchup from scratch on the weekly) and I decided to do something about it. Enter Palateable. Our brainchild. Born and raised in Los Angeles and here to make your dinner experience a little bit more like mine.
Our mission is to make dinner easy, fun, and an amazing experience for everyone in the family so that you all can actually enjoy dinner time. And yes, the ketchup at Palateable is 100% homemade by my wife herself.
